Tsotyli is a beautiful historic town in Western Macedonia, built amphitheatrically on the slopes of Mount Askio (Siniatsiko), at an altitude of approximately 850 meters. One of the most important archaeological sites in the area is Aiani, Kozani<\/strong>, which was the capital of the ancient kingdom of Elimeia. Excavations have revealed significant findings such as public buildings, residences, and everyday objects that highlight the development of the area since ancient times.<\/p>

Nearby is also Ancient Eordaia<\/strong>, a region with important archaeological discoveries connected to the history of Macedonia. Artifacts uncovered in the wider area are exhibited at the Archaeological Museum of Aiani<\/strong>, one of the most important museums in Western Macedonia.<\/p>

Tsotyli is known for its historic Gymnasium\u2013Boarding School, which operated as early as the years of Ottoman rule, as well as for its weekly market\u2014formerly known as \u201cKari Pazar\u201d\u2014held every Saturday and widely attended across the region.\n\nThe town is also associated with the early resistance groups, both armed and unarmed, during the Italian occupation. In retaliation, Italian forces set fire to Tsotyli on March 28, 1943.\n\nMetropolitan Neofytos of Siatista refers to the town in the register of his jurisdiction as \u201cTzotzili,\u201d which later evolved into the name Tsotyli.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The Anthochori Bridge is the longest stone bridge in Macedonia, reaching 49 meters in length, with a width of 2.7 meters. It consists of four arches, the largest of which has a height of 9 meters and a span of 15 meters.<\/p>

Its northern abutment rests on a steep, almost vertical rocky slope. The bridge once connected Grevena with Tsotyli, serving as a passage for the Pindus shepherds moving their flocks to Thessaly for the winter. Later, it became part of the old dirt road linking the two towns, while today a paved road bypasses it nearby.\n\nIt is often referred to as the Tsaknochori Bridge (the former name of Anthochori) or Pramorita Bridge. The exact date of its construction is unknown, but according to testimonies, it was built before 1770.<\/p>

According to legend, it was funded by a wealthy livestock owner. However, when he attempted to cross the river with his herd and family, a sudden and forceful current swept away his only daughter. The bridge was restored in 1937 and again in 1970, when it was also designated as a preserved monument. It is located about two kilometers from Anthochori, on the road connecting it with Klimataki and the abandoned settlement of Parorio.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

It is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and impressive stone bridges in Greece from a structural perspective. It is located just 1.5 km from the settlement of Agia Sotira, in the upper reaches of the Pramoritsa River.\n\nVisitors can reach it either by starting from the village center or by covering half the distance from the bend of the national road located just below. The two-arched bridge was built in 1851, following the earlier construction of a watermill at the same location.\n\nA large arch rests on a rock, creating the impression that it is a natural extension of it, while together with a smaller arch, they form a steep incline along the bridge.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
